Mr. McCaul,
As a strong lifelong Republican and McCaul supporter, I am shocked at your vote against the bailout. You inflicted severe damage to the economy, particularly small businesses. At the same time, your vote dried up hundreds of billions of Texans wealth in the stock market by the unforgivable mistake of voting against this package. You of all people should understand that although it is a bad option, it is the best option. The wealth that you erased from the people in your district that own mutual funds that own those companies hit in the market is just incredible.
I became a Republican in college because it seemed to me to be the party of good. It’s elected officials seemed to be clearly morally above what I thought was a morally bankrupt democrat party that did everything because of politics. My Republicans would risk it all for the American people, putting country first. You sir, put politics before country yesterday. What a sham and a shame. Let’s focus on getting the country out of this major crisis and then worry about ideology. Put COUNTRY FIRST now.
Not only did your vote manage to wipe out a significant amount of cash from the economy, potentially throwing the country into a reception, but you severely damaged the reputation of our own President Bush and our candidate John McCain.
I was discussing the vote with a group of politically active Republicans tonight, many of whom where invited and/or attended your town hall at EJs in Cypress a few weeks ago. We were all pretty much disgusted and are discussing our options come the first week of November if this is not rectified.

In order to score political points with their constituents, the idiotic morons in congress today chose to play politics and possibly throw the country into a major recession than to do the right thing and avert a major catastrophe.
Why Am I So mad? Let’s look at the facts: Small and medium size businesses power the American economy. Since the credit crunch, these business cannot get loans to grow, and in some cases loans to function. The result is a net job loss and potentially the worst economic crisis since the great depression. Is that simple.
So, my Republican representative, whom I really liked until today, voted against this bill. The claims for opposition of this bill is that is expensive, un-American, and bails out people that should be in jail. I agree with all of those arguments, but I’m also a realist. If this bill does not pass soon, not only will be be thrown into a recession for the sheer lack of credit to our economic engine, but we will also start loosing money in banking institutions that are failing. There are billions of dollars evaporating RIGHT NOW from your 401Ks due to money market investments into those institutions. Hey Michael, this is MY MONEY dummy. When you THINK that you are saving me money by not putting our tax money at POTENTIAL risk, you are actually condemming our financial system to a recession and our banking investments (thru our 401K, IRAs, etc that invest in funds that invest in those institutions). This is absolutely the worst case scenario. Quit posturing and do your duty to COUNTRY FIRST and not ideology.
Do you want to see high unemployment? Well, you will, because small businesses will be the biggest casualties of this crisis. Let me explain: Let’s take the example of the ongoing cost of a small restaurant, outside of the initial investment. The average profitability in a restaurant is less than 5%. I have a breakdown of an even smaller profit from a well established restaurant below that came from another site. The average non-fast food restaurant daily take is around $5,000/day. Assuming that such restaurant takes a day off a week and 2 holidays a year, working 311 days instead of 365, the low-end take in is over $1.55 million/year. With only 5% profitability, and high capital costs, these business rely on daily access to credit. If credit is not available, they are not able to carry the kind of capital required to self finance and must take measures to cut either capital or ongoing costs and labor. The net result is businesses closing, high unemployment, and a deep recession.
As for the claims, I will now defend the bill, although I do not like it but it must be done. The claims for opposition of this bill is that is expensive, un-American, and bails out people that should be in jail. So let’s discuss one by one:
So, join President Bush, John McCain, Barrack Obama, me, and the rest of the people who want to put COUNTRY FIRST, immediately write your congressional representative, and make them vote for this. They are working for you. Make sure they remember that.
Here is for your own research. This is the site that shows you which morons in the house voted against the bill. I expected this from liberal democrats, but not from my own folks: http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2008/roll674.xml

WOW! I am so impressed. Did McCain hit it right? I say it’s a home run. To Us Magazine, and all the other liberal jerks, go sit on it, like the Fonz use to say. She is outstanding. WOW!!!. Home run is an understatement. Rock and freaking roll.
Welcome to all of those Reagan Democrats, the Clinton Democrats, and the Hillory Democrats.
I am convinced. I am enamored. I am thrilled.
I have spoken in my blog about the evils of the power that my own party had. I talked about the revolution that was about to happen due to the arrogance to some of our republican leaders. I say good riddance to Tom Delay, Foley, and all of those jerks that kidnapped my party. Welcome to the reformers that made me become a republican. Sarah, you are the post child for what I have been speaking about. You freaking rock.
As uncomfortable as I am saying this, and knowning that this statement is pointless, I also think she is by far the most beatiful politician in a long time, if not ever. I know that is completely irrelevant, but it dtoes combat the beauty fascination that dems have with their candidates. I, of course, would never vote for anyone for their looks, but wow!
She also happens to be a great family person. I applaud her and her husband Jeff for not only choosing to have a downs syndrome baby, but to ensure that their pregnant daughter makes life work. I just love her!
As I’m sitting here listeing to the democrats analysing her speech, I’m completely in awe of her.
Welcome to the new GOP. THANK GOD! No more divise politics. Let’s get back down to idiology not theather. Palin not only rocks, but I do hope to see her as our President in 2012.
